Sonoma County’s latest Parks Order (No. C19-13), dated June 2,  further loosened restrictions for public access to parks and opens spaces in Sonoma County – including Healdsburg.

What is now open?

Neighborhood Parks: Badger, Barbieri, Community Center, Gibbs, Giorgi, Plaza and West Plaza, Railroad, and Sorrento parks.

Open Spaces: Healdsburg Ridge Open Space Preserve and Fitch Mountain Park and Open Space Preserve

The new health order permits groups of 12 people (who do not need to be members of the same household) to engage in outdoor recreation or sports, including at parks, outdoor recreational businesses, outdoor recreational equipment rental businesses, guided or chaperoned outdoor recreational activities.

What’s still off limits?

Direct physical contact with other people who aren’t members of your household is not allowed yet. Also, contact sports, tournaments, competitions or other sporting events, and live audience activities are not allowed.

Also closed to public use: “High-touch” equipment such as playgrounds, drinking fountains, as well as areas such as restrooms.

All park users need to assess if they have any COVID-19 symptoms, which include a dry cough, exhaustion, shortness of breath, and fever. Please go here for the list of COVID-19 symptoms that are known so far. If you feel unwell, please protect your fellow community members and stay home.

Still Required: Face masks and Physical Distancing

When in public, please try to keep at least six feet away from other people (who aren’t members of your household). If that isn’t possible, you must wear a face masks/covering to help protect others -- please always carry one with you when in public.

Loosening restrictions on public access to parks and open spaces allows residents to enjoy our outdoor spaces without resulting in the crowding and virus transmission risks that led to the parks being closed in the first place.
